Return Migrants and Economic Re-integration in Rural West Bengal, India

Return migration is relatively understudied. migrants are “the persons who returning to their country of citizenship after having been international in another (both long-term and short-term migration) intended stay own at least for a period one year” (UNSD, 1998). We aim understand how return from different socio-economic backgrounds re-integrate into the economy society origin. The study based on survey carried out West Bengal, India. A drastic change has noticed economic activities migrants. At destination, about 6 percent used work as causal labourers, which reduced 2 return. Similarly, rise ie self-employment was clearly visible among Re-integration major challenge these returnees. Less than 3 returnees could use skills gained abroad. It evident that standard living higher when they were working destination compared present situation place origin, even doing same job.
